New York City Files Suit to Get Knicks to Leave...but Isiah's Too Damn Smoove

On the heels of Seattle filing a lawsuit in an attempt to keep the NBA's SuperSonics, from skipping town, New York City announced plans to file a suit of its own Tuesday. In an effort to distance themselves from an association with their once proud, now downtrodden basketaball franchise, New York has asked a judge to file an injunction mandating that the Knicks leave town.

"Oh, so New York wants us gone, huh?" a clearly agitated Isiah Thomas, Knicks president and head coach, asked. "That's really disappointing. Because who's gonna take care of New York when I'm gone, let me ask you that? Who's gonna buy New York all that pretty jewelry it wears and give it money when it wants to go shopping? How many times do you have to choke someone before they get the damn message? I'm gonna kill that bitch!"

New Yorkers have become increasingly fed up with the entire Knicks organization, both on the court and off, and Thomas' continuing sexual harassment trial would seem to be the final humiliating nail in the coffin for many New Yorkers. However, New York has a history of going back to the Knicks even after the organization continuously hurts and embarrasses them in public. Aside from the excuse that the Knicks love them and didn't mean it, New Yorkers often cite the fact that Isiah buys them flowers, rubs their shoulders and promises not to do it again as reasons they keep going back.

"I really think New York would feel different if we just talked about this," a more subdued Thomas said later in an open plea for another chance. "C'mon baby, think about all the good times. Remember that time we went out for dinner on your birthday and I gave you a fat lip because you smiled at the waiter...OK, bad example. But I know there were times we went out and I didn't cause you some form of physical or emotional pain. Just think about it, baby, I'm begging you. You know I would never hurt you. Take me back NYC- it's me baby, it's Zeke. You know I love you."
